Hearts of Oak edged out Hohoe United 1-0 in a thrilling Premier League encounter at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Saturday, thanks to a stoppage-time strike from Mawuli Wayo. The Phobians’ late winner propelled them into third place, capping a dominant away performance.

Hearts controlled much of the game, dominating possession and creating key chances. Striker Hamza Issah and midfielder Martin Karikari came close, but it was Wayo who stole the show with his 90+1 winner, silencing the home crowd.

Goalkeeper Benjamin Asare made a welcome return to the starting lineup, keeping a clean sheet and showcasing his skills. Hohoe United’s Kwaku Musah also impressed with a superb save to deny Enoch Asubonteng, but it wasn’t enough to prevent his team’s defeat.

Hearts now sit third with 31 points from 18 matches, just three points behind league leaders Medeama SC. Hohoe United, meanwhile, remains in the bottom three with 18 points, facing a tough battle to stay in the topflight.
