Ghana’s Wrestling Coaches Receive UWW Certification

Two Ghanaian coaches, Henry Habada and Twumasi Addo, have acquired international coaching certificates in wrestling at the just-ended West African Wrestling Championships in Ouidah, Benin.

The coaching course, organized by the United World Wrestling (UWW) from November 24 to 27, 2025, was led by Vincent Aka, a United World Wrestling Agent. Coach Henry Habada participated in the Level 2 course, while Twumasi Addo took part in the Level 1 coaching course.

The coaches were taken through various aspects of wrestling tactics and techniques, as well as strategies for optimizing athlete performance. They engaged in group studies, presentations, and written exams to test their knowledge.

Group Presentation

Both coaches successfully passed the exams and were awarded their certificates. Ghana Wrestling Federation President, Norbert Amefu, expressed delight at the coaches’ achievement and tasked them to focus on training cadets, specifically kids aged 17 and below, to develop a strong pool of young wrestlers for the future.
