Ghana’s experienced goalkeeper, Richard Ofori, has expressed his burning ambition to represent the Black Stars at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

Speaking ahead of Amazulu’s upcoming league match against Durban City, Ofori emphasized the importance of focusing on his club performances to secure a spot in the Ghanaian squad.

“I’m working hard and focusing on my team at the moment,” Ofori said. “That’s what you need to do to be there, because you can’t sit on the bench or just wake up and go.”

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to feature nine African teams, including Ghana, who qualified after topping Group I. Other African countries that have secured their spots include Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, and Cape Verde.

Ofori’s determination to succeed on the world stage is evident, and he believes that consistent performance at his club, AmaZulu, is key to achieving his goal. “I’m still playing, and I’m giving it my all,” he added.
