The Ghana Kendo Federation (GKF) is organizing an athletes forum to educate athletes on the new rules of competition and best practices in the sport. This initiative follows the successful completion of a six-week referee seminar held at the Aviation Social Centre.

Bruce Adjaho, Technical Director of the GKF, expressed optimism about the impact of these initiatives on the development of Kendo in Ghana. “I am hopeful that these initiatives and many more to come in the year will give Kendo a great foundation with skilled athletes across the schools and clubs, plus coaches and referees,” he said.
The forum will bring together coaches, athletes, and referees from schools and clubs in Tema, Kumasi, and Accra. This gathering will provide a platform for stakeholders to learn about the new rules and best practices in Kendo.
The GKF is also preparing for the National Inter-Club Championships, scheduled to take place on June 28th at the Accra Sports Stadium. The championships will serve as a selection platform for the national team that will represent Ghana in a competition in Tunisia later this year.
Through these initiatives, the Ghana Kendo Federation aims to promote the development of Kendo in Ghana and equip athletes with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the sport.
