Nana Yaw Boateng’s Philanthropic Gesture Boosts New Juaben Table Tennis Club

In a remarkable display of philanthropy, the New Juaben Table Tennis Club received a generous donation of table tennis equipment valued at thousands of dollars from Ghana’s most decorated table tennis champion. This distinguished individual, a former national champion, a four-time SWAG Award winner, and a medallist at the Abuja 2003 All Africa Games, has been a steadfast sponsor and a strong backbone of the club.

The donation ceremony took place on November 11, 2024, at the club’s training facility. During the event, the highly regarded Nana Yaw Boateng, affectionately known as Abishi Lolo, expressed his gratitude to the executive committee for their dedication and hard work. He encouraged the players to maintain a strong commitment to their training, emphasising that perseverance is the key to achieving championship success.

National Coach Ebenezer Whyte, who also serves as the Eastern Region coach, took the opportunity to convey his heartfelt appreciation for the continuous support from this esteemed champion. He noted that such acts of generosity are indeed rare and highlighted the kindness that characterises the people of Koforidua towards the sport.

Attendees included the club chairman, first vice chairman, technical director, organiser, and public relations officer, all of whom expressed their gratitude to Nana Yaw Boateng for his unwavering support over the years.

In his closing remarks, Mr. Felix Adjetey Sowah, the club chairman, reflected on the invaluable assistance he has received from the Legend in his capacity as chairman. He dedicated a few moments for the club to extend prayers for Nana Yaw Boateng, asking for continued blessings upon him for his commendable generosity towards those in need, both within the table tennis community and beyond.

He assured the legend of the club’s commitment to accountability and the prudent use of the donated equipment, with a shared goal of nurturing future champions for Ghana and aspiring Olympians.
