Mr. Bawa Fuseini, President of Ghana Athletics, has been appointed acting director of the National Sports College, Winneba.
He replaces Mr. Noah Bukari, who acted as director for four years and has since October 9 gone on retirement.
Mr. Bawa’s appointment makes him the 12th Director of the College since its establishment in 1984.
In a meeting with the management of the college on Tuesday, Mr. Fuseini expressed his pleasure for the opportunity to lead the institution, saying, “His duty comes with a responsibility.”
He said he would work with staff to enhance sports education and development in the country in line with the mandate of the college.
The College was established to improve the capacity of the technical human resource through training and retraining, embark on sports-related research, organise workshops, make available facilities for camping for Ghanaian local and national teams, and identify potential talents in sport.
