The 2023/2024 Women’s Premier League champions, Hasaacas Ladies, have claimed yet another title, emerging victorious in the 2024 Women’s Champion of Champions match held on Saturday, October 12, at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram.

Hasaacas Ladies faced off against the Ghana Army team, who were the champions of the 2024 Women’s FA Cup. In a thrilling encounter, Hasaacas outplayed their opponents, securing a 2-0 win.

Comfort Owusu gave Hasaacas the lead with a brilliant strike in the 39th minute, putting them ahead just before halftime. In the second half, Mercy Attohbrah extended their advantage in the 74th minute, effectively sealing the victory and the title for the team.

Speaking after the match, Hasaacas Ladies’ Coach, Mabel, expressed her gratitude and pride in the team’s performance. “We thank the Almighty God for this victory because we struggled during the Women’s Super Cup. So, we went to the drawing board to correct our mistakes, and that is the result you saw today,” she said.

Coach Mabel also called on their loyal supporters to continue rallying behind the team as they head into the new season. “We call on our tireless supporters to rally their support behind us as we enter into the new season, so we can defend our title.”

On the losing side, Ghana Army’s Head Coach, Benedictus Wisawyer Abane, acknowledged the strength and determination of Hasaacas Ladies, praising them for their mentality. “You know Hasaacas is a respectable team, and the mentality they came into this game with was different from the Hasaacas we know,” Coach Abane admitted. “Football is about chances, and they capitalized on theirs and punished us. But this was a good exercise for us. We will go to the drawing board and come back stronger for the league season.”

Both teams were awarded medals, and Hasaacas Ladies proudly lifted the Champion of Champions trophy, adding another accolade to their impressive collection.
