Zanator Rawlings, Member of Parliament for the Klottey Korle Constituency, expressed her enthusiasm for tennis as a burgeoning career path for Ghanaian youth at the annual Hope Tennis Clinic organized by the Hope Performance Foundation at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“Zenator, I’m really excited because it is a way of opening space. It is not just about playing for fun; you can actually have a career in it, Rawlings stated during an interview with the media. “It shows the level of consistency that the Hope Foundation has been doing every year. There is a lot of hope for children to shine and perform well, and it gives them the opportunity to have a career. With due respect, football is great, and tennis is amazing as well.”

The honorable member highlighted the importance of utilizing available facilities to nurture young talent, emphasizing, “I think this is a really good opportunity, and we have the facilities available for such exercise.”.

“Hope Performance Foundation has been instrumental in promoting tennis by providing children with rackets and fostering interest in the sport. “Two or three years ago, Hope provided our children with rackets just to promote interest in the sport,” Rawlings noted. “I think this is a wonderful opportunity for the children.”

The two-day event, which began in 2018, saw over 300 boys and girls participating in this year’s edition. The clinic has expanded significantly, introducing tennis to regions such as Winneba and Kumasi.

The annual Hope Tennis Clinic continues to play a vital role in the development of tennis in Ghana, offering children the chance to develop their skills and potentially pursue professional careers in the sport.
