Namibian Government Disburses Funds for African Games Medalists

Athletes from Namibia who participated in the 13th African Games and won medals have received their rewards through the Sports Commission by the government. All athletes who achieved medals during the games have been awarded their prize money as the government has transferred N$ 1,045,000 to the Namibian Sports Commission.

Medalists received the following amounts: N$ 80,000 for gold, N$ 60,000 for silver, and N$ 40,000 for bronze. Coaches also received rewards: N$ 30,000 for each gold, N$ 20,000 for each silver, and N$ 15,000 for each bronze. Team sports like cricket, which won a silver medal, received N$ 300,000, with coaches receiving N$ 100,000.

Namibia finished 23rd on the medal table with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals from swimming, cricket, cycling, wrestling, and athletics.
