Ghana’s Sports Minister, Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, has advised two young athletes heading to Nairobi for the Africa Youth Athletes Development Project to remain disciplined and focused as they represent the country on the international stage.

Speaking at a ceremony at the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, Adams told Gladys Boateng and Blessed Junior Owusu that discipline was crucial to achieving success in sports. “The only difference between achieving and not achieving is discipline,” he said.

The minister urged the athletes to maintain their discipline in training, diet, and rest, and not let success go to their heads. “You will be celebrated, you will be mentioned, but don’t let that push you into doing things you weren’t known for,” he advised.
Gladys and Blessed, accompanied by coaches Mustapha Ibrahim and Francisca Azumah, will participate in a training camp in Nairobi from April 5-12, 2026, ahead of the Youth Olympic Games.
