Priscilla Mensah’s 63rd-minute goal propelled Ghana’s U20 women’s national team to a 1-0 win over South Africa, securing a 3-2 aggregate victory and a spot in the fourth round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

After a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Accra Sports Stadium, Ghana created chances early on but were thwarted by solid goalkeeping. Precious Asante’s effort just before half-time was parried away, and Mary Amponsah’s injury led to Priscilla Mensah’s introduction.

Jessica’s clever delivery met Mensah, who slotted home to give Ghana the lead. South Africa pushed hard but Ghana’s goalkeeper Jenna made a crucial save in the 78th minute to preserve the lead.

Ghana will now aim to qualify for their eighth consecutive U20 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be held in Poland in September.
