The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has dispatched a team of technical experts to Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, the three nations set to co-host the 2027 TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
The inspection visit, which began this week, will run until February 17, 2025, and will assess the countries’ readiness to host the tournament. The team will evaluate key match and training venues, focusing on pitch quality, safety, security, and infrastructure.
The visit is part of CAF’s efforts to ensure world-class standards in African football, enhance the AFCON’s reputation, and build a stronger football ecosystem on the continent.
The CAF Executive Committee and President Dr. Patrice Motsepe will visit Tanzania on February 13, 2025, to review preparations.
In Tanzania, inspections will cover Dar Es Salaam, Arusha, and Zanzibar, including the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium and Amaan Stadium. In Kenya, the team will visit Nairobi’s Kasarani Stadium, Nyayo Stadium, and Talanta Sport Stadium. Uganda’s inspection programme includes Entebbe, Kampala, and Hoima City Stadium.
CAF will continue to work closely with the host nations to ensure successful tournament delivery.
