The Ghana Chess Association (GCA) has concluded its Congress, held at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium on January 24, 2026, with key decisions and a renewed commitment to unity among members.

About 70 members attended the event, which saw the admission of 35 new members, highlighting the growth of chess nationwide.
The Congress presented and approved the Auditor’s report and formed an Election Committee to oversee upcoming elections on February 21, 2026.

Several petitions were addressed, with petitioners given the option to withdraw submissions or face sanctions, emphasizing unity within the organization. Chairman of the meeting, Philip Ameku urged members to work together, stating “we are one family” and prioritizing love and unity.
The GCA Congress demonstrated a strong commitment to growth and development, positioning the Association for future success.
