The Ghana Skate organization inaugurated the Greater Accra Regional Skate on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the conference room of Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium.

Johnson Kwaku Gameli Kportufe, President of Ghana Skate, congratulated the new executives of the Greater Accra Regional team, led by Chairman Clement Smith Danyagi, and urged them to raise the profile of skating in the region.
“On behalf of the Executive Board of Ghana Skate, I extend our sincere congratulations on your inauguration today as the Greater Accra Regional Executive,” Kportufe said. “This significant occasion is a testament to the confidence and trust that the people of Greater Accra have reposed in your leadership.”

Kportufe commended the team’s dedication to the growth, development, and promotion of Roller Sports, and expressed optimism that their continued commitment would propel Ghana Skate to greater achievements.
In his acceptance speech, Chairman Danyagi thanked the National Executives for entrusting him with the position and pledged to make Greater Accra the hub of skating in the country.

“Skating is not just a sport; it’s a way of life,” Danyagi said. “It brings us together, promotes physical fitness, and fosters a sense of community. As your Chairman, I promise to work tirelessly to promote skating in our region, provide opportunities for our skaters, and ensure that our sport is accessible to all.”
