SWAG’s Wrestler of the Year, Fuseini Issah, Wins Ghana’s First Gold Medal at West African Championship

Fuseini Issah, Ghana’s heavyweight wrestling sensation, has brought home the gold in the men’s 125kg freestyle category at the ongoing West African Wrestling Championship in Ouidah, Benin.

Issah, who was crowned SWAG’s Wrestler of the Year, dominated his Beninese opponent, Sadath Yacoubou, in the final, winning by technical knockout to claim Ghana’s first gold medal at the championship.

The Ghanaian wrestler is set to compete in beach wrestling on Sunday, November 30, 2025, in the final of the West African Wrestling Championship.
