The Ghana Wrestling National Team has arrived in Ouidah, Benin, ready to take on the best of West Africa at the upcoming Regional Wrestling Championship, scheduled for November 29-30, 2025.

Head coach Henry Habada expressed confidence in his team’s readiness, saying,
“We’ve trained for several weeks, covering tactical, technical, physiological, and psychological preparation. Everything is underway, and I think the boys and girls are ready for the battle.”

Habada singled out Fuseini Issah, Ghana’s heavyweight champion, as a strong medal contender.
“Issah has been consistent, and we’re assured of a medal from him. I’m hoping he’ll bring home a gold medal.”

Alberta Tetteh and Princess Setordzi are also expected to shine, with Habda praising their skills and experience. “Alberta is an experienced wrestler, and I know she’s ready to pick a medal. Princess is new to the sport, but she’s picking up quickly, and we’re hoping she’ll surprise us.”

The team is competing in Beach Wrestling and Freestyle, with athletes Alberta Tetteh (50kg), Princess Setordzi (53kg), and Fuseini Issah (125kg) representing Ghana.

Habada sent a message to Ghanaians, saying, “Keep praying for us. We’re doing our best, and we pray for an injury-free tournament. We’re aiming for at least four medals and will bring glory to Ghana.”
