The Ghana Golf Association organized a workshop for sports journalists at the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club in Accra on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, as part of its efforts to promote golf development in Ghana. The workshop, which was the second edition, aimed to equip journalists with in-depth knowledge of the game, including equipment, rules, scoring, techniques, and terminology.

The workshop covered a range of topics, including:
- Golf equipment and rules
- Scoring and data analysis
- Techniques and terminology
- Accuracy, fairness, and transparency in reporting
- Ethics and respect for golfers’ privacy
- The importance of inclusivity in golf reporting
- Erasing the perception that golf is a sport for the rich
Solomon Allotey, Honorary Secretary of the Ghana Golf Association, emphasized the association’s commitment to continuous engagement with journalists. “We believe that one session is not enough. We’ll continue to have workshops and interactions with journalists to equip them on how to best report on golf,” he said. The association plans to hold the workshop at least twice or thrice a year to ensure that journalists are well-equipped to report on the sport.

Allotey also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the Ghana Golf Association and the media. “The collaboration has been existing, but we believe that we need to strengthen it. We’ll have more collaborations and strengthen the existing relationship to promote the growth of golf in Ghana,” he said.

The workshop was a step towards promoting golf development in Ghana and equipping journalists with the knowledge and skills needed to report accurately and professionally on the sport.
