The Chartered Institute of Bankers Ghana (CIB Ghana) recently organized a Sports 4 Life and Health Talk as part of its 2025 Bankers’ Week celebrations.

The event, held at the Athletics Oval of the University of Ghana, Legon, brought together members of the banking sector for a day of aerobics, exercise, and health talks.

Dr. George Henry Acquah, CEO of Henry’s School of Artificial Intelligence, delivered a compelling health talk, emphasizing the importance of monitoring blood pressure. He advised participants to check their blood pressure regularly, noting that hypertension is a terminal disease that requires continuous management.

“When we pronounce you hypertensive, it’s a terminal disease. You take the medicine, so you are managed,” he stressed.

Dr. Acquah Coleman, a psychologist, also spoke on mental health, highlighting the need to manage emotions and reactions. He noted that seeking revenge is a sign of mental health issues and emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence and well-being.

Robert Dzato, CEO of CIB Ghana, explained that the theme “Sports for Life” focuses on well-being, mental health, and cancer awareness. He highlighted the importance of regular exercise and health talks for bankers, who often face demanding workloads.

The event featured a range of activities, including football, basketball, cards and ludo, designed to promote teamwork and wellness.

CIB Ghana aims to promote the health and well-being of its members and the broader banking community.
