Leandro Trossard’s second-half goal proved to be the difference-maker as Arsenal edged past Fulham to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League. Despite starting without captain Martin Odegaard, Mikel Arteta’s side showed resilience and quality to secure the win.
Fulham began brightly, with Harry Wilson and Josh King testing Arsenal’s defense. However, the Gunners grew into the game and created scoring opportunities, including a disallowed goal for Riccardo Calafiori.
The turning point came in the 58th minute when Gabriel flicked on a Bukayo Saka corner, and Trossard capitalized with a well-placed finish from close range.
The VAR intervened to deny Arsenal a potential second goal, ruling out a penalty claim for Saka’s fall.
The win strengthens Arsenal’s lead at the top of the Premier League, with Manchester City second and Liverpool fourth. The Gunners’ next challenge awaits, while Arne Slot’s Liverpool hosts Manchester United on Sunday.
