Medeama SC and Samartex FC played out a captivating 1-1 draw in their Ghana Premier League match at the Tarkwa TnA Park on Saturday. The result temporarily keeps Medeama at the top of the table, pending the outcome of other weekend fixtures.

Samartex took the lead in the first half when Dramani Awuah scored a stunning goal from the center circle, catching Medeama’s goalkeeper off guard. Medeama dominated possession and created numerous chances, but their persistence paid off only in the 89th minute when Kingsley Braye slotted home a rebound to equalize.

Despite the draw, Medeama’s dominance was evident, with 29 total shots and 13 corner kicks compared to Samartex’s four attempts on goal. The draw extends Samartex’s unbeaten run to six matches, comprising two wins and four draws.

In other matches, Dreams FC secured their first win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Nations FC at the Tuba Astro Turf. Ernest Appiah opened the scoring in the seventh minute, and Suraj Seidu doubled the lead in the 54th minute. The win boosts Dreams FC’s confidence, while Nations FC remains winless in five matches.
