Prosper Harrison Addo, General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, has been appointed to the FIFA Legal Committee for a four-year term from 2025 to 2029. This prestigious appointment recognizes his exceptional legal expertise and contributions to football administration and governance.

With over 24 years of experience as a lawyer, Addo brings a wealth of knowledge to the committee. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Economics from the University of Ghana, Legon, and an MBA from the Salford Business School, University of Salford in Manchester, United Kingdom. His extensive background in football governance and legal administration has earned him widespread respect within the football fraternity ¹.
As a member of the FIFA Legal Committee, Addo will advise and assist the FIFA Council on legal matters, including:
- Statutory Interpretations: Providing expert advice on FIFA’s statutes and regulations
- Regulatory Frameworks: Contributing to the development of regulatory frameworks for global football
- Governance Issues: Addressing governance issues within global football
The committee is chaired by Elvis Chetty of Seychelles, with Michael Llamas of Gibraltar serving as Deputy Chairperson.
Before his appointment as GFA General Secretary in 2020, Addo served as Senior Manager, Compliance at Scancom PLC (MTN Ghana), and Manager, Commercial Legal. He was also part of the FIFA team that developed the FIFA General Secretaries Handbook and contributed to the FIFA Clearing House Regulations.
