The Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) has reaffirmed its leadership and outlined plans to move forward with its development initiatives following a High Court ruling. The court’s decision dismissed a suit challenging the legitimacy of the association’s leadership, led by Mr. Mawuko Afadzinu and Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey.
In a press statement signed by its directors on September 9, 2025, the GTTA emphasized that the court’s ruling confirms its lawful leadership and warned the public against recognizing unauthorized individuals or groups claiming to represent the association.
The GTTA has outlined several initiatives to ensure alignment and support for its renewed direction, including:
- Developing a transparent 9-month election framework
- Reviewing and restructuring its rules and regulations
- Releasing a detailed events calendar for 2025
- Engaging with stakeholders to advance the “Transform Table Tennis Agenda”
- Mobilizing athletes for upcoming competitions
- Launching a digital upgrade program for talent identification and program execution
The association has called on stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, and partners, to unite behind its renewed momentum and support its commitment to excellence in governance, sustainable growth, and elevating Ghana’s global standing in table tennis.
