In a timely morale-boosting gesture, the Minister for Sports and Recreation, Hon. Kofi Adams, visited the senior national football team, the Black Stars, at their camp this afternoon.

Addressing the players and technical team, the Minister expressed both the nation’s disappointment over the result against Chad and his unwavering belief in the team’s ability to respond decisively on Monday. He reminded the squad of their unique talents, global exposure, and the collective hope they carry for Ghanaian football fans.

The Minister noted that he was not there to criticise, but to listen, understand, and support. “I know what you’re capable of. There’s no better team than you. You have the talent, the passion, and the opportunity to turn this around,” he said.

In response, the players and coaching staff assured the Minister that lessons had been learned. The head coach Otto Addo emphasised that the team remains focused on qualification and will respond accordingly in the upcoming fixture, especially with the advantage of a natural grass pitch. A senior player echoed the collective sentiment: “We know what went wrong, and we are determined to correct it. The win is coming.”

The visit reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment not only to resourcing national teams but also standing with them during moments of difficulty.
Ghana believes and the team has vowed to fight for redemption.
