Emmanuel Kwasi Antwi, the founder of the Cross-Country Mountain Bike Championship, shared his excitement about the upcoming event. “This year’s sixth edition will be big, as we’re expecting a large turnout of students from Adenta. We’re trying to build our cycling community along with the students, and this event will be a great platform for them to showcase their skills.”

When asked why mountain bikes are used for the event, Antwi explained, “Mountain bikes are more accessible and affordable than road bikes, making them perfect for this event. We want to make cycling accessible to everyone, regardless of age or skill level.”
Antwi also expressed gratitude to the event’s sponsors, including Prudential and DHL, and noted that other companies are showing interest in supporting the event. “I call my events ‘friends and family events’ because I’ve got a lot of friends who always support me. I’m grateful for their support, and I’m excited to see what this year’s event will bring.”
Reflecting on the previous five editions of the event, Antwi said, “It’s been very positive. I’ve seen a lot of youths in Adenta putting pressure on their parents to buy them cycles, and I’ve created a cycling route in Adenta that’s being used by many event participants. I’m proud to see the impact this event is having on the community, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for cycling in Ghana.”
