Ghana’s top seven male 100m sprinters have arrived at Texas A&M University-Commerce in the United States for a secluded training camp ahead of the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, scheduled to take place from September 13 to 21.

The training camp, organized by Ghana Athletics in collaboration with the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), aims to provide the athletes with an ideal environment to fine-tune their skills and build team cohesion.
Texas A&M University-Commerce is providing facility support, and the athletes will be trained by Coach George Pincock, the university’s head track and field coach.
Meet Ghana’s Top 7 Men’s 100m Sprinters:
- Abdul-Rasheed Saminu: 9.84s (+1.5) – Powder Springs, GA – July 19
- Benjamin Azamati: 9.98s (+1.2) – Sherman Oaks, CA – May 22 (will join camp on August 18 after competing in Europe)
- Ibrahim Fuseini: 10.03s (-3.0) – Lubbock, TX – May 1
- Barnabas Aggerh: 10.06s (+1.9) – Marion, IN – May 23
- Joseph Paul Amoah: 10.08s (+1.5) – London, CAN – June 22
- Mustapha Bokpin: 10.09s (+1.4) – Powder Springs, GA – July 19
- Isaac Botsio: 10.11s (+1.6) – Canyon, TX – April 10
With several sprinters running sub-10.10 seconds this season, expectations are high that Ghana could make a strong showing in Tokyo, potentially reaching the finals and challenging for medals in both the men’s 100m and relay events.
