SWAG Pays Tribute to Fallen Heroes

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), led by President Kwabena Yeboah, laid a wreath on Wednesday, August 13, to honor the memory of fallen heroes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Yeboah expressed the association’s condolences to the families of the deceased.

“On behalf of the patrons, executives, and general assembly of SWAG, we are here to commiserate with the families of our fallen heroes,” he said. “This is a national disaster, and we are greatly saddened by the loss of these iconic figures who died in the line of duty, serving their nation with dedication and selflessness.”

Mr. Yeboah prayed for the families of the deceased, asking that they find peace and strength in this difficult time. “We pray that their families would be able to live in peace, and that they would be strengthened as the nation collectively grieves this disastrous moment,” he said.

He also expressed hope that the nation would draw comfort from the fact that the fallen heroes would find eternal rest. “We take comfort in the fact that they will find a place in the bosom of their creator,” Mr. Yeboah added.

The ceremony was attended by top officials of the GOC, including President Kwabena Yeboah, General Secretary Charles Osei Asibey, and members Raymond Akummey , Theophilus Sampah, Janet Nana Akua Amankwah, Albert Parker Nartey, and Christian B.K. Aidoo.
