Ghana Athletics has officially announced its participation in the upcoming Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) U18 and U20 Championships, scheduled to take place in Abeokuta, Nigeria, from July 16 to 20, 2025.
A team of Ghana’s most promising young athletes will compete in various track and field events, aiming to raise the national flag high and solidify Ghana’s status in African youth athletics.
The U18 female athletes selected for the championship include:
- Darkoah Janet Kwarteng – 100m/200m
- Manu Esther – 200m/400m
- Haruna Latifa – 800m
The U18 male athletes selected for the championship include:
- Boateng Appiah Alex – 100m/200m
- Tettey Philip Odjer – 200m/400m
- Saabuno Evans – 1500m
- Arthur Mahalaeel Kwasi – 110m Hurdles
- Ayim Papa Kweku – Discus
Additionally, two athletes have been selected for the U20 category:
- Mbila Moses – 100m
- Opoku Godfred – 200m/400m
The Ghanaian delegation will depart Accra on July 14, fully prepared and motivated to make the nation proud.
Ghana Athletics believes this championship presents a critical pathway for developing athletes, offering exposure to high-level competition and scouting opportunities for international championships and professional development.
