The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved the 2025/26 GFA Omnibus Competitions Calendar, setting the stage for an exciting new season. The calendar was approved at the Executive Council meeting held on June 9, 2025, and outlines the key dates and competitions for the upcoming season.
The 2025/26 football season will officially commence on July 1, 2025, and conclude on June 30, 2026. The GFA has taken into consideration the 23rd FIFA World Cup, scheduled for June 11 to July 19, 2026, ensuring that all elite domestic competitions conclude before the commencement of the global showpiece.
- Premier League matches will be played on Sundays, with midweek dates reserved for outstanding fixtures.
- Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League and Division One League will maintain Sunday matchdays.
- The MTN FA Cup will feature selected matches on midweek days, while Women’s FA Cup matches will take place on weekends.
- The eTrophy – GFA eFootball Competition will return, offering gamers a platform to display their skills.
- Beach Soccer and Futsal Premier Leagues will be part of the season’s program.
The 2025/26 season will witness the nationwide rollout of Girls Colts competitions (U15 and U17), building on the pilot success in the Northern and Greater Accra Regions. These competitions will be held in partnership with FIFA Women’s Football Development and the Ten Regional Football Associations.
Provision has been made for off-season tournaments, including the Elite U15 Girls Championship, Elite U19 Second Division Championship, Boys U15 Elite Competition, and the KGL Foundation U17 Colts Championship.
