Amankwah Elected to GOC Board, Pledges Dedication and Service

Ghana Armwrestling Board member Mr. Edwin Amankwah has been elected as a Board Member of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), securing 38 out of 63 valid votes cast at the Accra International Conference Centre, Committee Hall 1.

Amankwah expressed his excitement and commitment to contributing to the GOC’s transformation agenda. “This victory is not mine alone; it is ours,” he said. “I pledge to work with the rest of the Board with dedication, integrity, and passion to advance the vision of the GOC and serve the interests of all stakeholders in Ghana’s sporting fraternity.”

Believing it’s time for change, Amankwah emphasised his commitment to guiding and overseeing GOC’s activities. “I believe this is the time to change the phase of the GOC, and we must do that now,” he said.

Amankwah was elected alongside Rafatu Inusah, President of Ghana Rugby, and Nathaniel Johnson, who will drive the GOC’s mission forward. Amankwah thanked the delegates and sporting community for their confidence, saying, “Thank you once again for believing in me. I look forward to working closely with each of you as we build a stronger and brighter future for sports in Ghana.”
