Nathaniel Johnson Esq, President of the Ghana Karate-Do Federation, has thrown in the challenge, seeking election as a board member of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC). In a media engagement, Johnson outlined his motivations and vision for the role.

“I’ve always wondered why the GOC hasn’t been marketing itself effectively,” Johnson said. “As a National Federation, I believe the GOC plays a key role in sports development in Ghana. I’ve studied the GOC’s constitution and noticed areas for improvement.

“Johnson highlighted his achievements in Karate-Do, stating, “If I put just 50% of my effort into the GOC, we’ll go far.” He emphasized his ability to drive growth and foster collaboration, citing his experience as a seasoned entrepreneur and leader.

“My vision is to promote Olympic values, develop grassroots sports programs, and enhance Ghana’s reputation on the international sports stage,” Johnson declared. “I aim to leverage my network, expertise, and passion to drive positive change and achieve excellence in Ghanaian sports.

“Johnson promised to bring a strong hand to the GOC board, ensuring that decisions are made with a clear course and objective. “We won’t allow people to have their way out,” he said. “We’ll look at things being done right, decisions being taken, and adherence to them.

“Johnson urged support, saying, “Let’s build a brighter future for Ghanaian athletes and the Olympic movement. Join me on this journey to elevate Ghanaian sports and inspire future generations.”

The GOC Elective Congress is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
