The Ghana Hockey Association (GHA) has extended its goodwill message to Mr. Richard Akpokavie and Dr. Ben K. D. Asante as they contest for key positions in the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC). Mr. Akpokavie is vying for the presidency, while Dr. Asante seeks a seat on the Executive Committee.
The GHA cited the duo’s rich experience and achievements in sports administration and corporate leadership as reasons for their endorsement. Mr. Akpokavie, a former National hockey player and captain, has served in various capacities, including Secretary General of the GOC for eight years. He currently holds positions on the Executive Committee of the African Hockey Federation and the Ghana Hockey Association, as well as the FIH Technical Officials Committee.

Dr. Ben K. D. Asante, also a distinguished hockey player, has been President of Ghana Hockey for the past six years and has supported various sports events and projects. The GHA believes that their election will bring valuable expertise to the GOC, making the Olympic family stronger and more united.

The association urges all federations and delegates to vote for Mr. Akpokavie and Dr. Asante, wishing them success in their bid for a better and more united Ghana Olympic Committee.
