Conquerors Sporting Club made a clean sweep at the 2025 Greater Accra Rugby Association (GARA) sevens competition, with both their men’s and women’s teams emerging as champions. The men’s team dominated Accra Rugby Club with a 20-0 victory, while the women’s team defeated Melike Rugby Club 22-0.

The tournament, organized by GARA’s newly elected leadership, showcased the region’s top rugby talents. Conquerors’ victory was a testament to their superior tactical discipline and attacking prowess.

GARA Vice President Hajj Abdul Samad expressed satisfaction with the competition level, highlighting rugby’s significant growth in Ghana. He emphasized the importance of exposing young talents to the game, particularly in rugby-rich areas like Mamobi and Madina.

Looking ahead, GARA has an ambitious roadmap for the season, including a sevens tournament in April, a ‘Captain’s Teams Tournament,’ and the President’s Cup. The rollout of a structured school rugby league is also on the agenda.

Accra Rugby Club’s head coach, Robert Oram, reflected on his team’s performance, emphasizing the value of the tournament in providing experience for younger players. Conquerors’ player Nhyira Owusu-Ansah highlighted the need for more competitive matches to sharpen their skills.

The 2025 GARA Rugby Sevens competition was sponsored by Procus Ghana Ltd, and the future of Ghana Rugby looks promising. Final Standings:
