Manchester City Thrash West Ham as Haaland Ends Goal Drought

Manchester City returned to winning ways in style, hammering West Ham 4-1 to equal their biggest victory of the season. Erling Haaland ended his Premier League goal drought, scoring twice in a dominant display.

Haaland’s first goal came late in the first half, heading home a cross. He doubled his tally with a calm chip over West Ham keeper Alphonse Areola after a through ball from Savinho, who was City’s standout player.

Savinho forced the opener, his left-wing cross deflecting off Vladimir Coufal and leaving Areola stranded. Phil Foden added a fourth, tapping home his second league goal of the season after Kevin de Bruyne’s unselfish assist.

West Ham pulled one back through Niclas Fullkrug, but Crysencio Summerville wasted a gilt-edged chance to reduce the deficit further.

The win marks City’s first successive victories since October and provides a much-needed boost for manager Pep Guardiola. In contrast, West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui remains under pressure, with the club’s poor form sparking speculation about his future.
