Chelsea’s struggles in the Premier League persisted as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The Blues have now gone four games without a win, extending their dismal run into 2025.
Cole Palmer had given Chelsea a promising start, scoring his 13th league goal in the 14th minute thanks to Jadon Sancho’s impressive assist. However, despite dominating the first half, Chelsea failed to capitalize on their chances, with Nicolas Jackson and Sancho among those who squandered opportunities.
Crystal Palace gradually gained momentum in the second half, with Eberechi Eze’s shot narrowly missing the target. The Eagles eventually equalized in the 80th minute through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who tapped in from close range after Eze’s precise pass.
The draw leaves Chelsea fourth in the table, while Crystal Palace climbs to 15th, extending their unbeaten run in the league to three games.
