The event concluded successfully, setting the stage for an exciting national championship. The event was organized by the Ghana Chess Association (GCA) and held at the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra from December 27 to December 29, 2024.

Organizers and Officials:
The tournament was directed by GCA President Ameku Philip FA, FI, with Vice President Ashley Christiana FA, FI serving as the Chief Arbiter. Assisting in the smooth conduct of the event were Deputy Chief Arbiter CM Fomevor Clinton and Arbiter Rev Charles Raymond Appiah Tandoh Esq, IO.

Top 5 Qualifiers:
After nine rounds of intense competition, the top five players who secured their spots for the national championship are:

  1. Prince Akpa – 7.5 points.
  2. CM Daniel Frempong-Smart – 7.5 points.
  3. Kwasi Kporxah Maxwell – 6 points.
  4. Waris Clinton Abdul-Raheem – 5.5 Points.
  5. Harry Sarkodee-Addo – 5.5 points.

Tournament Highlights:
The qualifiers featured a Swiss-system format with nine rounds, adhering to a time control of 60 minutes plus a 30-second increment from move one. The average rating of participants was 1550, indicating a competitive field.
