Sefah Emmanuel became the first player in the 2024/25 Access Bank Division 1 league to achieve a hattrick of assists. His brilliant performance helped Rainmasters FC secure a 4-2 away victory over True Democracy in matchday 1 at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema Newtown.
Despite being his debut season in Division 1, the 20-year-old Sefah showcased glimpses of brilliance from the start, excelling in both central and attacking midfield roles.
On the 33rd minute, Sefah located and assisted former Asante Kotoko striker Dickson Afoakwa, who equalized for Rainmasters FC. Seven minutes later, Sefah found Afoakwa again, setting up his second goal and giving Rainmasters FC a 2-1 lead.
True Democracy FC equalized two minutes later, making the score 2-2. With the referee signaling five minutes of added time, many expected the first half to end in a stalemate. However, Sefah’s brilliance had other plans.
In stoppage time, Sefah delivered another exceptional pass, finding captain Emmanuel Bonsu unmarked. Bonsu beautifully curled the ball into the net, restoring Rainmasters FC’s lead (45+5′). This stunning goal broke the hearts of the host team, True Democracy.
Sefah’s first-half performance was unstoppable. He was substituted off in the 63rd minute to rest.
