The University of Ghana Rugby Stadium will welcome the continent’s top-performing rugby nations for the Africa Rugby Women’s 7s Championship in the first week of November 2024. All Africa’s leading rugby countries will converge in Ghana for the prestigious event.
Rafatu Inusah, a Ghana Rugby Football Union board member, shared insights on the upcoming championship. “We’re expecting 12 countries to participate in the Rugby Africa Women’s 7s competition. The top eight teams will advance to next year’s competition, while three teams will be relegated. It’s a highly competitive tournament, featuring powerhouses like South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, and Madagascar. It will be an exciting competition here in Ghana, but it won’t be easy.”
When asked about Ghana’s chances, Inusah replied, “Every team aims to win. We’ll put in the hard work, hoping others will join forces to help Team Ghana make the nation proud.”
She encouraged athletes and rugby enthusiasts to support the team. “I urge all athletes and rugby lovers to come on board and let’s make Ghana proud.”
