Olympian Isaac Opoku Honored in New Juaben Traditional Area

On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Isaac Opoku (Asawa), a distinguished Olympian and the only male table tennis athlete from Ghana to qualify for the Olympics, had the privilege of visiting the New Juaben Traditional Area. His visit served as a friendly announcement of his presence in the country and a gesture of greetings from the club’s directors. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support he received from Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III, who also served as the club’s patron.

During the visit, renowned Olympian Isaac Opoku expressed profound gratitude for the significant impact of table tennis on his life. He attributed much of his success to the generosity of his late uncle, Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng II, and his successor, Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III, who played a pivotal role in advocating for the club’s access to the community center for training. Isaac also highlighted the substantial support provided by Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III, emphasizing his contributions to the club’s growth.

Additionally, the club’s chairman seized the opportunity to express gratitude for Daasebre’s kindness, highlighting the significant contributions made by Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III.

In response, Daasebre expressed gratitude to the Olympian for recognizing the support his late uncle had provided during his playing days. He thanked the Olympian for acknowledging his uncle’s contribution. Daasebre also assured the Olympian of his continuous support to promote the sport’s development and growth. He pledged to help realize the vision of Zero Streetism’s directors, ensuring the sport’s continued success.

Furthermore, Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III has graciously offered to host a friendly match with Mr. Isaac Opoku (Asawa) at his palace on July 20, 2024.
