Inter Allies beat WAFA 4-1 on penalties after 1-1 in the regulation time in the Volta Regional Division 2 Middle League final.
WAFA took the lead in the 16th minute in the first half through Kwesi Nyamekye. Inter Allies pressed so high to get the equalizer in the first half, but WAFA remained resolute to maintain their lead in the first half.
Inter Allies came into the second half with so much determination and got the equalizer in the 53rd minute through Michael Siaw Narh.
Consequently, the game became open, and Inter Allies continued to push hard. Inter Allies dominated the last 25 minutes, however, WAFA goalkeeper Sylvester Antwi’s brilliance denied them the winner.
It had to be settled by penalties, and Inter Allies emerged victorious, beating WAFA 4-1 to claim the Volta Regional Division 2 title and a spot in the 2024/25 Access Bank Division 1 league zone 3.
Inter Allies were demoted to Division 2 following the match-fixing scandal against Ashanti Gold in the 2021/22 season.
