The Millennium chairman, Harry Zakour, believes Michael Ampadu possesses the quality of a good leader and has what it takes to play for the Black Stars.
Zakour, in an interview on Happy Sports with Ohene-Bampoe Brenya, singled out two players who impressed him at Hearts of Oak: Kwesi Nketiah and Michael Ampadu. However, he was particularly impressed with Michael Ampadu, whom he thinks has the potential to play for the Black Stars.
“The number 2, who plays the number 2 role, Michael Ampadu, is a very good player. I think he can play for Hearts of Oak. He controls the game, just like Osei Kuffour and Ishmael Addo did in our days. You need a good leader on the pitch. If you don’t have a good leader, you can’t succeed as a club, and that’s what I’m looking at”.
He believes that there are very good players in the local league, so with proper scouting, Hearts of Oak can find some great talent to complement their current team.
“The quality of players we have is not sufficient. We need to buy more good players. There are good players in Ghana. If you scout around Ghana, teams like Bofoakwa, RTU, or others, you may find one or two good players to blend with the current team”.
