Former Legon Cities goalkeeper has passed on

William Essu, a 22-year-old goalkeeper for Legon Cities FC, reportedly passed unexpectedly at the UCC Hospital in Cape Coast.

After the 22-year-old was taken to the hospital on Friday, his physicians ran a number of tests on him but were unable to identify the source of his ailment.

Essu’s condition began to improve on Saturday afternoon—he even managed to down a Malta Guinness—but later that evening, he experienced a recurrence, and the medical staff declared him dead.

His former clubs, Legon Cities and Vision FC, extend their heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time.
