Following a hard-fought win over Akim Tafo Susubiribi FC on match day 30, Division One campaigners Vision FC have secured a coveted Ghana Premier League promotion for the first time in their history.
Vision FC started the game on a fast pace note, attacking the opposition in search of the opener and could have gone ahead as early as the fourth minute when Daniel Yemoh’s header from Suraj Musah’s cross missed the target.
Ten minutes after, Yemoh again could not make his efforts count as he could not connect home a cross from Patrick Mensah inside the six yard box.
The first half of the game saw the two teams coming close to getting an opener yet they went into the break with a stalemate.
After an exciting round of play, Vision FC got a late goal through Henry Lamptey’s solo strike on the 81st minute to climax their effort for the entire season.
Visions’ promotion is confirmed with 56 points from 30 games. The team recorded 17 wins, 7 draws and 6 losses during the entire season.
A brief Coronation ceremony was held where 50 gold medals and a trophy was presented to the club after topping the Zone three table – sealing a historic qualification to the top flight.
