Ghana’s high jumper, Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah, says being at the Olympic Games has been her ultimate goal and she is excited to have achieved it. Rose made this comment after breaking the women’s high jump national record with a leap of 1.97m and securing a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games via the entry standard at the NCCA on June 8, 2024

“I can’t believe I’ve achieved this great honor. It has always been my prayer to be at the Olympics and here I am today. A huge thank you goes to my coaches, Coach Petros and Coach Sarah, for the effort they’ve put into me. You’ve both done an amazing job!”

She also extended her heartfelt appreciation to her Illini tfxc team and the coaching staff for their motivation and support. Additionally, she thanked Mr. Wisdom and Mrs. Joyce Boatey for their role in her development.

“Also, to the Illini tfxc team and the coaching staff, I really thank you all for the massive support and motivation. I am truly grateful to be part of the Illini team. To Mr. Wisdom and Mrs. Joyce Boatey, I appreciate you both a lot. I am where I am today because of you both; your care and support have brought me this far.”

In a single evening, Rose achieved a remarkable feat, breaking her personal record, the school record, the national record, and the meet record.
