Paris 2024: Ghana’s boxer Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey advances to Round 16 and has two more hurdles to qualify

The Ghana Black Bombers team is currently in Bangkok, Thailand, seeking the final Paris 2024 Olympic qualification. The team left the shores of Ghana with seven boxers, six male and one female. Five are already out of the competition, leaving only two: Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey and Dr. Ornella Sathoud.

Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey won his round 32 bout against his Kyrgyzstan counterpart, Anvarzhan Khadzhiev, in a 4-1 split decision in the men’s Flyweight (-51Kg) category, advancing to the Round of 16. He now needs to win two more bouts to secure a slot in the Paris Olympic Games.

Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey’s Round 16 opponent is China’s Chuang Lin, on Friday, May 31, 2024.

Dr. Ornella Sathoud will be in the ring on June 1st for the Round 16 against Aynur Rzayeva from Azerbaijan
